Statement Sleeves and Sparkles

With Christmas fast approaching (sorry Scrooges!) my thoughts are turning to sparkles, parties and warm clothing!

I am loving the over-sized statement sleeves that are still very much in fashion... Flute sleeves, ruffles, frills; you name it and I love it! It can add that something special to an otherwise plain top.

With the weather changing, it's time for light knits and layers. I find thick jumpers too hot in this weather, especially when going from outside to indoors with the heating blaring and the unpredictable temperatures rising by midday. 3/4 length sleeves are perfect for this transitioning weather, along with soft, lightweight versatile jumpers.

The green flare-sleeve knit is extremely soft. It is light-weight and comes in this gorgeous colour as well as in staple black. The sleeves flare wide, making the top feel looser and not at all clingy.  Being 100% cotton, this top will see me through autumn right into the spring. The colour lifts any outfit, and the style means you can easily dress up jeans, or you can ramp up the effort by pairing it with a skirt. I think it will go perfectly with this skirt. I have such a soft-spot for these cotton tops with flared sleeves; I am getting a little collection going! They're so easy to wear. See some more pictures of this top below.

This cosy grey jumper with the subtle cluster of sparkles is so comfortable and the perfect length. Not one sight of an itch (I hate itchy knitwear!) The twinkling shoulder details gives this soft jumper a pretty edge, and makes it a must-have for my autumn/winter wardrobe! I will be pairing it with jeans, and to dress it up, my leather skirt. You know those clothes that when you try them on in the fitting room, you don't want to take them off? Yeah, well, this was definitely one of those! I have included some pictures below.

The colour of this green flute-sleeve shift dress just screamed "Christmas" at me when I saw it! I love deep greens and bright reds over the festive season, and was immediately drawn to this. Again, another feature I was attracted to were the statement sleeves. When I tried it on, the fit is loose as it is a shift dress; meaning I can eat all the food!! As it is not fitted, I don't have to worry about the inevitable 3 course meals and copious glasses of delicious red that the festive season brings! It falls above my knee, and I am just over 5'1"; this is from the Petite section of Dorothy Perkins, but they have a similar style here

Thank you for reading. What styles are you loving this autumn?
